We built Could Have Been an Email to eliminate that doubt entirely. Not with promises but with architecture. The system is designed so that identifying you isn’t just against our policy. It’s technically impossible.
Most email systems track opens and clicks. We explicitly disabled that. We have no idea if you opened the survey invitation, clicked the link, or ignored it entirely.
We can’t see where you responded from or what device you used. No network location. No browser fingerprint. No breadcrumbs. Nothing.
Results are aggregated across all respondents. There’s no way to see how any specific person answered — not for the organizer, not for us, not for anyone.
Surveys need at least 5 attendees to be created and at least 3 responses before any results are shared. If participation is too low to guarantee anonymity, we simply don’t release the results.
Each attendee gets a unique 64-character random token. It can’t be guessed, shared, or traced back to you in the results.
After results are sent, email information is purged. We don’t keep it around “just in case.” It’s gone.
This entire platform depends on you feeling safe enough to be honest. If you don’t trust us, you won’t use it. If you won’t use it, nothing changes.
